I have a friend who often says, “It is ok to change your mind, no matter what it is you believe in.   And when we do, things will be uncomfortable because the layers of what was once  there are being removed.”

A few years ago I began the transition from my “old” belief system into my self-discovery phase.  It has been a tough ride simply because letting go of things that once made me feel “safe”, but was not making sense nor promoting any growth, was a bit fearful.  What I have learned about myself and the level of maturity and wisdom that I have acquired, brings me to another segment of my Sunday Afternoons.  read more

Do more of what you love

My phone beeped and a weird notification showed up on the screen.  I have one of those message systems that tries to transcribe whatever a person is saying, most of the time, into some jumbled words.   As I was getting ready to delete it, anticipating it to be spam, I decided to listen to it.  A long time friend had passed away. After 12 hours, my body finally said it was time to wake up.  It was a sunny 75 degree day, and as any other weekend, I got up and sat in front of the computer to continue working on my many projects.   However, I couldn’t really focus and since I needed to run a few errands, I decided to go out.  So I hopped in the shower,  pulled my hair up to a pony tail, put my shades on and bounced.

I began to drive without a destination and headed west in the direction of a few mountains that I’ve been curious to see since I moved to Arizona.  I rolled down my windows, blasted the radio and enjoyed the fresh and crisp wind on my face.   read more
