“What if it doesn’t work?”, she asked, “do it anyway.” the voice responded. She sat quietly with her back against the wall, on her low white bed, and took a deep breath. “What if it hurts?”, she cried. The warm voice replied, “Do it anyway.” She finally got up, walked around the bed and shouted, “What if I fail?” There was a long silence. After a few minutes, she turned around, got herself back in bed and pulled the covers all the way above her head. She then heard a soft whisper, “Get up, and do it anyway.” Welcome to Sunday Afternoons.
- Grateful – that each day we are given an opportunity to begin again. To fix what we have broken, to take a chance on something new. Each day has a possibility to remind us of how far we’ve come and the greatness that lies ahead. It gives us a glimpse of where we are and a chance to become stronger. And for that I am grateful.
- Waste of time – I’ve learned that everybody has their moment. Our story is not theirs and to say that people have wasted their lives because they did not become what was shown to us through their qualities and talents is not for us to judge. I began to look at what is good and be grateful for their contributions to the world.
- Something new – The word Moors, means black people.
