I often wondered if celebrities possess some type of superpower, like immunity to other people’s opinions and bullshit. I figured how do you deal with so much crappy comments from total strangers that knows absolutely nothing about you? They often say they don’t look at those comments, but I am sure they peep at it from time to time. I tell you, some of those comments can be so so crazy, that no wonder the tolerance level we have for each other is almost non-existence.
I saw an interesting Facebook post the other day, and of course, I was intrigue in reading the comments. As I began to scroll down, One person said, “People with face tattoos are evil.” I chuckled because I know someone who’s whole entire face is tattooed and he is the most charismatic and sweet person you will ever meet. Then another one said, “Don’t trust people who are divorced, they will never be faithful.” Ha! I began to laugh hard, and thought to myself: I am a divorcee and I am trustworthy, WTF is this person talking about? Oh yeah, they are reflecting on their own reality or the one they created, so don’t take things personally. This is the Second Agreement from the The Four Agreements book I began to read a few weeks ago. But what if it is someone close to you? It is easy when we are dealing with a total stranger. What if it was a loved one, like your mom, dad, a mate or a close friend? How not take things personally?
Perhaps these celebrities are practicing the second agreement, but it would have been great to know they had superpowers. Ha!
