Brazilian Hot Dogs

As I get closer to my trip to Rio, I am craving more and more their street foods: churros, tapioca, X-tudo and of course, their notorious hot dog.   I took a trip to the store to get some of the ingredients and indulge myself in that mix of delicious flavors…

Beef Hot Dogs (or your choice if you don’t eat beef)
1/2 Onion
1/2 tsp Tomato Paste
Parmesan Cheese
Potato Sticks (I used crushed potato chips here because I couldn’t find it)
Sweet Peas
Sweet Corn
Hot dog buns

In a frying pan, sauté the onions with a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil in medium-high heat until it becomes soft.  Add 1/2 teaspoon of tomato paste and 1/4 cup of water, mix it and let it simmer.  In saucepan, cook the hotdogs as per package directions.  Place buns on a plate and begin to build to your taste: hot dogs, onion tomato sauce, ketchup, mayo, corn, parmesan cheese, and chips. Enjoy!
